January  2010 Board Recognitions

The January Students of the Month are Danika Perez and Levi Campos.

January  Female Student of the Month

The January Female Student of the Month is Danika Perez. Danika is the seventeen-year-old daughter of Ruby and Dennis Perez.

            Danika has been active on the FHS campus. She has been a member of the National Honor Society and the Student Council. In addition, Danika is a leader among her peers, serving as the president of the Drama Club. She has also been active in UIL One Act Play.

            For her efforts is the classroom, Danika has earned recognition. She has been named to the “A” Honor Roll and received the Outstanding Student of the Year Award for Communication Applications.

            Despite the demands of her academic courses and her extracurricular activities, Danika still finds time to be active in the community. She recently participated in the UT Health Science Center sex education program. In addition, she is currently employed at the Floresville Early Childhood Center Campus through the Co-Op program.

            Upon graduation in June, Danika plans to attend the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque where she will pursue a degree in theater.

January Male Student of the Month

The January Male Student of the Month is Levi Campos. Levi is the seventeen-year-old son of Joy and Felix Campos.

Levi has excelled in his academic career. Levi is a member in good standing with the National Honor Society. He received the Outstanding Student of the Year Award for Graphic Arts, Yearbook, and Skills USA. Levi finished in second place in the state at a desktop publishing contest.

As a member of the Mighty Tiger Band, Levi was chosen to serve as drum major.  He also received the Outstanding Solo Award.

When not busy with his extracurricular activities, Levi is giving back to the community. He currently serves as vice president of the Leo’s Club. He has participated in the Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Festival and Relay for Life and helped raise funds for the Alamo Breast Cancer Foundation. Levi has also helped prepare care packages for our troops and volunteered with the Lion’s Camp. As a member of the Floresville Methodist Youth Group, he has volunteered with the church’s Vacation Bible School.

Upon graduation in June, Levi plans to attend Texas State University. He is currently considering majoring in English, writing or music.
