September 2009 Board Recognitions

The September Students of the Month are Ashley Takacs and Raymond Tyler Johnson.

September Female Student of the Month

Ashley

 The September Female Student of the Month is Ashley Takacs. Ashley is the seventeen-year-old daughter of Kathy Krawietz and Mark Takacs.

            Ashley is a leader among her peers at FHS. She is the Student Council Representative for the Class of 2010. She is also the secretary for Student Council. As a member of Link Crew, Ashley serves as a peer mentor, assisting freshmen in making a smooth and successful transition into high school. In addition, Ashley is a member in good standing with the National Honor Society.  Despite the demands of her coursework and her extracurricular activities, Ashley still finds time for employment. Through the FHS Co-Op program, Ashley is employed in the FHS attendance office. 
Upon graduation in June, Ashley plans to attend Texas A&M University, where she will major in meteorology.

September Male Student of the Month           Tyler

The September Male Student of the Month is Raymond Tyler Johnson. Tyler is the seventeen-year-old son of Mendy Kiolbassa and Raymond Johnson.

            Tyler has been very active in the FFA. In addition to being a chapter officer since 2006, Tyler was also the Alamo District President in 2008-2009. He is this year’s FFA Vice President. In the past, he has served as vice president, treasurer and reporter. He has been on the FFA leadership teams for the past three years and on the judging teams for the past 5 years.  He has also earned several ag awards.   In addition to FFA, Tyler has held leadership positions in several FHS organizations. As a member of the Mighty Tiger Band, Tyler has been the drum major for two years. He has also served as parliamentarian for National Honor Society and was a member of Principal’s Round Table last year. He is a member of Student Council and a former member of Red Cross. As a member of Link Crew, Tyler serves as a mentor to freshmen on campus. Tyler has also participated in Tiger athletics as a member of the golf and cross country teams.
Despite his busy schedule, Tyler finds time to give back to his community. Through FFA, he has participated in several Adopt-A-Highway campaigns. He has also logged countless hours of community service by volunteering alongside his mother through the Women’s Service Organization. Upon graduation in June, Tyler plans to pursue a degree in Aeronautical Engineering at Texas A&M University.
