Getting Online with Your Tablet, at Home To hook up to your internet at home (if your internet service provider – ISP—isn’t AOL) Go to Start. Go to Settings. Go to Network Connections. RIGHT click on Network Connections (NOT on any of the connections that are there). A screen will come up that has a blue side and a white side. On the blue side, titled Network Tasks, select “Create a new Connection”. A welcome sign will come up; click “Next”. It will ask "What do you want to do?" Click: Connect to the internet. Next: Getting Ready: Click "Set up my connection manually." Next Screen: Internet Connection, click Connect using Dialup Type in your ISP (name of internet company. Some common ISPs include Alacrity, Felpsis, Netzero, Nexasnet, etc.) You will need your Username, password and phone
number that the dialup uses. If you ARE an AOL user, use the AOL installation disk which came with your tablet. Do the installation while you are at home, with the phone line plugged into your computer. Choose the option which is something like "put my existing account on this computer". If you are going to do Grade Speed from home, you will have to go back in and UNINSTALL some of the AOL security programs, including their spyware protection. Those programs tell the computer that GS is a pop-up ad. |
