Wildlife Forever State-Fish Art Contest

Students used their newly acquired knowledge to create an illustration and a composition about the Guadalupe Bass, our state fish, to enter the Wildlife Forever State-Fish Art Contest.  The Texas State-Fish Art Contest is open to all Texas children in grades 4 through 12.  The artwork must depict any official or recognized state fish.  The fish must be depicted in its natural habitat.  A typed or handwritten composition not to exceed one page in length relating to the characteristics of the fish, its state, habitat, behavior, or efforts to conserve it also had to be included with the art project.  Three winners from each state will be selected, one winner per grade group (4-6th, 7-9th, 10-12th), for a total of 150 winners nationwide.  All winning designs will be displayed at the Wildlife Forever State-Fish Art Expo in the summer of 2007 and online at http://www.statefishart.com
