CEI (Creative Educational Institute) is a computerized reading program designed to help students who may need additional help in developing appropriate reading skills for their grade level. This reading program helps the student to exercise and link visual, auditory, and motor-kinesthetic pathways in the brain. (Taken from the Creative Education Institute brochure) To go to CEI's newly developed Web-based Activity Center (WAC) simply go to the home page at: http://www.ceilearning.com. Once there, on the right side of the home page you will see the WAC hyperlink. Click on it, and when it asks for a password simply type in the word " oneteam". You and your child will be able to complete Creative Crosswords, Word Searches, Picture This, and /or CEI Journal entries. Response to Intervention When children attend Reading RTI they will work on skills they are missing to help them with their reading. The majority of the skills will be from the Five Components of Reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. Second graders will also have an additional component of spelling/writing. Students will work in small groups of 2-4 children. Please see below for links to the staff that will work with your child during RTI. Some children may come 20 minutes daily while other children might come 50 minutes daily two times a week. Most children who come to Reading RTI are in Tier 2 or Tier 3. Classroom and RTI teachers work as a team to help your child succeed! |
