FISD Paying It Forward

In October of 2015 after a tornado hit our city, Floresville ISD was on the receiving end of tremendous generosity as we repaired and rebuilt our schools. Today, FISD has the opportunity to “pay it forward” and make a difference for others in a similar, but even more catastrophic, situation. FISD would like to work together to provide targeted donations to Aransas County ISD. During our time of need, we found that specific, organized donations were of tremendous help. Classes Resume, Monday, August 28th

Floresville ISD will have regularly scheduled classes tomorrow, Monday, August 28th. As of 4:30pm, TxDot and the Wilson County Sheriff’s office have confirmed that there are no road closures in the FISD attendance zone. Currently, barricades are being removed from roads that were previously closed.

Update Regarding School on Monday, August 28th

As of 12:00 today, TxDot is not reporting any road closures or flooding within FISD. The weather forecast is predicting between 2 and 6 inches of rainfall through late this week. At this time, we believe it is too early to make a final decision about school tomorrow. We will continue to monitor Tropical Storm Harvey and will provide an update regarding possible delays or closures for Monday, August 28th, by 6:00pm today.

Hurricane Harvey Update 8-25

FISD is monitoring the weather as Hurricane Harvey approaches. At this time we believe it is too early to make a final decision about school next week. We will provide an update regarding delays or closures for Monday, August 28th, by 1:00pm, Sunday, August 27th.
