CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS
FLORESVILLE BAND BOOSTERS
ARTICLE ONE

Section 1. |
The name of this organization shall be the Floresville Band Boosters. |
PURPOSES
|
Section 1. |
To stimulate and maintain an interest in the Floresville Elementary, Middle and High School Band Programs. |
|
|
Section 2. |
To give all possible support, both moral and financial to these band programs. |
|
|
Section 3. |
To cooperate with school officials for both building and maintaining an efficient band program and for promoting general activities pertaining to the band in adherence to U.I.L. guidelines for the Band Boosters. |
ARTICLE THREE
MEMBERSHIP

Section 1. |
Membership shall consist of all band parents and other interested persons. |

There
will be a $5.00 due required for all voting members per year.
Voting
memberships are those received by the October meeting. For any new student to Floresville school district, membership must be obtained within 2 months of student enrollment. |
ARTICLE FOUR

Section 1. |
There shall be the following officers: |

(a) President |

(b) Vice-President – Public Relations |
||
|
(c) Vice-President – Fund Raising |
||
|
(d) Vice-President – Concession Stand |
||
|
(e) Secretary |
||
|
(f) Treasurer |
||
|
Section 2. |
All officers (voting members) shall be elected by the voting membership for a one-year term (July 1 – June 30). |
|
|
Section 3. |
Officers may serve more than one term. |
|
|
Section 4. |
The Executive Committee shall be composed of at least three elected officers and one band director or his/her designee. The Executive Committee shall not approve any request over $500.00. |
|
|
Section 5. |
Officers shall be elected at the April meeting and introduced in May meeting. The newly elected officers shall take office on July 1. |
|
|
Section 6. |
Should an officer not fulfill their duties during their appointed term, for any reason, a qualified person, from the voting membership, shall be elected at the earliest possible meeting by a majority vote of the membership present. |
ARTICLE FIVE
DUTIES OF
THE OFFICERS

Section 1. |
The President shall preside at all general meetings of this organization and at all the meetings of the Executive Committee. The President shall appoint a Vice-President to preside over any general meeting that he/she is unable to attend. |
|
|
Section 2. |
The Concession Stand Vice-President(s) shall be in charge of all concession stand activities. |
|
|
Section 3. |
The Public Relations Vice-President shall handle all public relations. |
|
|
Section 4. |
The Fund Raising Vice-President shall be in charge of all fund raising activities. |
|
|
Section 5. |
The Secretary shall keep an accurate record of all general meetings, called meetings and take care of all correspondence. |
|
|
Section 6. |
The Treasurer shall receive all funds of this organization and disburse those funds as needed by the organization with an accounting of receipts and disbursements at each monthly meeting. |

|
Section
7 Section 8 |
The
Treasurer's book and Secretary's book and all other pertinent data shall
be turned over to the respective incoming officers by July 1. These
records are to be kept for seven (7) seven years. All elected officers are strongly encouraged to attend all meetings. |
SPECIAL
COMMITTEE
|
Section 1. |
The President shall appoint chairmen of committees necessary to carry on the work of the Band Boosters. The President shall be considered a member of all committees. |
ARTICLE SEVEN
MEETINGS
|
Section 1. |
The President shall call an Executive Committee meeting at his/her discretion. |

Section 2 |
The membership shall meet in regular session the first Tuesday night of each month of the school year, unless otherwise voted on. |

Section 3 |
A quorum shall be established at each general meeting. The quorum shall consist of at least half of the officers and at least four (4) additional voting members. |

ARTICLE EIGHT
AMENDMENTS

Section 1. |
The Constitution and by-laws may be changed or amended by a majority vote of the voting members present at a regularly scheduled Band Booster meeting, provided there has been public notification and the proposed changes or amendments were read at the previous regularly scheduled Band Booster meeting. |
BY-LAWS
|
Section 1. |
All policies pertaining to the operation of the Floresville Band Boosters shall be under the jurisdiction of the Superintendent or his/her designee according to the U.I.L. rules for Band Booster Clubs. |
|
|
Section 2. |
All instruments, uniforms, or other equipment purchased by the Band Boosters shall become the property of the Floresville Independent School District. |
