mythical magical myth mysteriously solved !

article by: Alexandria B.

Hypothesis:

Mary Poppins' umbrella is too small for her to float down safely.

Procedure:

Find an umbrella that safely allows an egg to float down safely.

Divide Mary Poppins' weight compared to the egg's weight then multiply by the distance across my umbrella to determine  the size of umbrella she would need.

 Materials:

umbrellas of different sizes
and eggs

conclusion:

EUD=my umbrella's distance in inches=27

UEW= weight of egg and umbrella=7.5 lbs

MPW= Mary Poppins' estimated  weight=110

MPUD=Mary Poppins' umbrella distance across=396

solution=MPUD=MPW divided by UEW multiplied by EUD=396

In summary she could not float down safely without a huge umbrella.
