Step 1:Write a hypothesis

Hypothesis: I think that the brand name cat litter will be more absorbent than store brand.

Step 2:Collect all materials needed

            Supplies: cat litter, water, camera, measuring cup.

Step 3: Perform Experiment

Have two cups of cat litter in a container. Pour one cup of water into the container. Record data onto piece of paper. Repeat over many times.

Step 4: Chart Your Results

Results;

  Each time 1/2 cup of water was added to 2 cups of litter.

Cost: Name brand $2.92 for 7 lbs or 43 cents a pound. Store brand is $4.26 for 16 lbs or 27 cents a pound.

Both absorb equally well, but it is my opinion that the store brand's round, more compact clump were easier to remove.
