My teaching philosophy
Each day I’ve spent educating students and working with other teachers has given me the utmost respect for each and every individual. This is why I firmly believe in building our classroom into a room of positive energy and an atmosphere filled with respect. Showing and giving respect towards fellow teachers, students, parents, and community members is important in letting others know that you care. I care and want each of my students to know that I care about their future and their education.
I also believe that teaching cannot take place unless classroom rules are followed. For infractions of rules, I will most often warn the student verbally before a more severe consequence is carried out. Other times I will redirect students, which allows them to verbally explain what the correct step should’ve been after they’ve gone against a rule. Students are always given a chance to think about what they did wrong if they’re in violation of a rule. However, the student also needs to understand that depending on the severity of the situation, consequences such as office referrals will still be issued because there are only so many warnings and redirecting chances that can be administered before an immediate disciplinary action is taken. I hope that the respect I give your child will be reflected in the respect that is given back. Again, I look forward to working with your child and helping them be successful throughout their education and life.
