B. Tests– We will have at least 1 test per nine weeks including quizzes. These can be corrected to a 75 if you receive a failing grade. Corrections need to be done during tutorials or at another time determined by the teacher. There will be a six weeks checkpoint given to all students at the end of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd nine weeks. Students in 7th and 8th grade will be given semester checkpoints at the end of each semester (3rd and 6th six weeks). At these times 6th grade students will take six weeks checkpoints.
D. Library Books/Accelerated reader- Every student is required to have a library book on a daily basis for reading class. We will periodically go to the library to allow the student’s to check out books. Books checked out must be accelerated reader books. If a student comes to class without their library book they will get points deducted from their daily grade. Students will also be allowed to take tests on the books they have read to earn points for the accelerated reader program. Tests will be taken on the computer during reading class.
E. Group Work - When working in groups, EVERYONE works. Please do not COPY FROM ANOTHER PERSON’S PAPER EVEN IF THE PERSON IS YOUR PARTNER!!!!! You work on it yourself and then check answers with your partner or you may be assigned a specific task in the group. I will be taking grades on your participation by observing your behavior in the group. (If you are working, and helping your group, you should get a good grade).
