Camp Set-up
As we arrived at camp we saw bear boxes, open area, a couple picnic tables, rocks, and brush. First we got off the bus and explored the camp ground. After that we went to the bus and got our sleeping bags and our other stuff. Then we started building the tents. Well before the boys started we said that if you help you can sleep, so the guys started. First we moved all the big rocks out of the way then we laid out the tent. Then we put the stakes in. After that we put all the poles together that matched. Fourthly, we put the poles in and attached them. Once everything was on, to be on the safe side, we put big rocks against the poles so they would not collapse. Then we went inside the tent and swept it out. Then we set up our sleeping bags and put our stuff by our feet. Well as you know how smart our teachers are, they decided to help the girls. They messed everything up! The guys went to help the girls and the teachers, about thirty minutes later it was all done. We took about a five to ten minute break then got out water bottles filled up and hiked the window trail. Big Bend Camp Food The food that we ate in Big Bend was on the first night was jambilia that was some good stuff I truly thought that it was going to be gross or taste really bad but, after I tasted it I though it was not bad. The second night was Spaghetti That was the best I even went back for seconds. After we were done with all the food and the stuff we used for utensils we had to put into the Bear Box so the bears would not get any of the sent and be in our camp. |
