The FISD 2009/2010 District calendar provides for 3 “Trade Days” for Teachers, Support Staff and Paraprofessionals. Trade Day Definition and Purpose: The trade days allow for these district personnel to have 3 holidays within the school calendar which they otherwise would not have. These trade holidays are August 18, 2009, January 22, 2010 and June 5, 2010. These days provide for flexibility in staff development and in the district calendar. Although it is voluntary to take advantage of the trade days to attend training opportunities, please be advised that there are some Staff Development days which are only available during the summer months. The purpose of the Trade Day program is to encourage teachers to participate in these excellent opportunities for professional development and growth.
