The touchstone of the Floresville Independent School District is Building a Community of Character.  This is accomplished by fostering the virtues of respect, responsibility, fairness, citizenship, caring, and trustworthiness in our children, teachers, and citizens our students. Michael Josephson once said that What will matter is not your competence but your character, not by how many people you knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when your gone, not your memories but the memories that live in those who loved you. What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what. Josephson says that living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident. Life is not a matter of circumstance but of choice. By fostering character in our students, we hope they will “Choose to live a life that matters.”  Welcome to our school district, where we are building a community of character!

Sincerely,

David Vinson
