“I just appreciate what they do to keep us safe,” Kasen explained. His mom, Alisa, got the angel keychains online for Kasen, and he’s been giving them to officers for the last three months. “He always feels so good after he gives them the keychains. The officers are always so nice and appreciative. Kasen always comes back gleaming,” she said.
It comes as no shock to Mr. and Mrs. Petrey that Kasen has decided he wants to go into law enforcement when he grows up. “He just has so much respect for them. We do, too, and I think he sees that,” shared Mrs. Petrey.
FISD Police Chief Greg Brooks presented Kasen with a certificate of appreciation and an FISD Police Department Challenge Medal. During the presentation, Chief Brooks said, “I have been a police officer for 34 years, and we appreciate things like this. It means a lot to us.”
Mrs. Heather Brooks, FNE Principal, reminded Kasen’s class that at FNE Kindness Matters. Kasen’s face lit up when his principal said, “Kasen, we are so proud that you are showing that kindness to our law enforcement.”
