Resources for Learning from Home March 23-27

March 22, 2020

Floresville ISD Families,

We know you are eager to hear about FISD’s plans to keep your child learning during the mandatory school closure. During Spring Break, the FISD Teaching and Learning Department created this webpage with resources for parents to access the week of March 23-27. While these resources do not include all grade levels or courses, they will help families continue learning at home while our teachers and principals are finalizing plans for more specific remote learning.

Beginning Monday, March 23, teachers will be contacting families to determine what resources are needed to provide remote learning. Based on that information, they will create plans that include options for online learning and/or paper packets.

We also want to share that several internet providers have made services available for free. Click this link to see a list of possible options. We believe that Charter Communications-Spectrum is the only provider in our area.

FISD is committed to providing continuous learning opportunities for your children. The resources provided above should be used for that purpose. Students will not be asked to turn in any work during this week, however, it is so important to keep our students engaged in learning while we make important decisions about how we will continue to educate our students during this closure.

We encourage you to participate in your child’s learning this week.  Try some of these resources together and read with them. One of FISD’s Core Beliefs is that education is a shared responsibility throughout the community. This is an unprecedented opportunity for all of us to work together to make sure our students learn every single day.

Thank you for your patience and support as we walk through these uncharted waters. Working together, we will continue to prepare our students for prosperous lives.  Take good care of yourself and your family.
