Additional guidance and amended reentry protocols for students and staff after exposure to COVID-19 have been released by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Floresville ISD is adopting the new TEA reentry protocols as explained below, effective immediately.
Students and staff may opt to reduce their quarantine period to seven days and return to school on day eight IF they have a negative PCR COVID-19 test taken on day 5, 6, or 7 of quarantine AND if no symptoms are present during that 7 day period. An official test result must be given to the campus nurse, along with being symptom-free before returning.
If a student or staff member does not take a COVID-19 test, then they will be required to quarantine for ten days. After ten days of quarantine, students or staff must be symptom-free during the ten-day period, contact the campus nurse on Day 10, and complete the Dr. Owl screener for admittance onto campus on Day 11. Students and staff should continue monitoring themselves for symptoms during the remainder of the 14-day period after exposure.
If your child or anyone in the household receives a positive COVID-19 test result, none of the household members (students or adults) are allowed on any district campus or facility until cleared to return.
