Child Find locates, identifies, and evaluates children suspected of having a disability to ensure they receive special education and related services as appropriate.
Senate Bill 139 requires districts to notify parents of updates to Special Education by the Texas Education Agency. Please see notice linked here:
Child Find is a component of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), which requires an ongoing process for locating, identifying and evaluating children suspected of having a disability, who may need special education and related service.
School districts must ensure that a free appropriate public education is provided to all individuals with disabilities aged 3-21 who qualify for special education services. Through support from TEA, Education Service Center Region 20, and the Early Childhood Intervention Program, Floresville ISD ensures that early intervention services are available to children aged 0-3 with an identified need.
