Pre-K FAQs

Your child must be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2021, to enter Pre-K for 4-year-olds (PK4).

FISD partners with BCFS Head Start to provide Pre-K for three-year-olds. Families must complete the Head Start application and qualify to participate. The Head Start application for 2021-2022 will be available on April 5, 2021. Your child must be 3 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2020.

A child is eligible for enrollment in free Pre-K if he or she is at least 3 years of age on or before September 1 for Head Start PK3 or 4 years of age on or before September 1 for PK4 and meet at least one of the following eligibility requirements:

  • Unable to speak and comprehend the English language
  • Economically disadvantaged; eligible to participate in the national free or reduced-price lunch program
  • Homeless
  • The child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States or a member of the armed forces who was injured or killed while serving on active duty
  • Is or has ever been in foster care
  • Child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award

Paid Pre-K costs $380 per month.

Yes, FISD provides bus transportation for Pre-K students. You can find your child’s route in mid-August at this link.

FISD is proud to offer full-day Pre-K.

Nap/rest time is provided in Pre-K

To take advantage of our high-quality Pre-K program, students must come to school every day.  Pre-K students fall under Compulsory Attendance Law and are expected to attend school and follow the Floresville ISD Academic Calendar.
