Irma Guerra is the Director of Elementary Learning and Federal Programs. In her role, Irma works closely with all elementary teachers as well as those that teach English learners.
Previously, Irma worked at Education Service Center, Region 20 as a Bilingual/ESL Specialist. For three years, she worked with over 50 school districts within the region offering technical assistance and meeting professional development needs of campus leaders and staff. While at Region 20, she worked with colleagues on the accountability team, helped create a new Bilingual Teacher Academy, and assisted with the Annual Language Conference.
Irma also worked at Cypress Fairbanks ISD, Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD, and East Central ISD for a combined total of 10 years. She taught in various bilingual program models and was the NCLB coordinator at East Central ISD. She also spent two summers teaching English learners in an ESL setting with Upward Bound.
