Comprehensive Developmental Guidance Program

Guidance Curriculum provides guidance content in a systematic way to all students. School counselors help all students develop competence in essential life skills. Areas addressed are:

• Motivation to achieve
• Decision-making, Goal-setting, Planning, and Problem-solving skills
• Interpersonal effectiveness (including social skills)
• Communication Skills
• Cross-cultural effectiveness
• Responsible Behavior 

Responsive Services addresses the immediate concerns of students. School counselors provide prevention and/or intervention for immediate personal, social and emotional concerns. Areas addressed are:

Individual Planning assists students in monitoring and understanding their own development. School counselors provide guidance to help students plan, monitor and manage their personal, educational and career goals. Areas addressed are:

EDUCATIONAL

  • Appropiate course selection

  • Lifelong learning

  • Utilization of test scores

CAREER

  • Knowledge of potential career opportunities

  • Knowledge of career and technical training

System Support includes program and staff support activities and services. School counselors support campus staff, parents and community to promote the educational, career, personal and social development of students. Areas addressed are:
