Visitor Guidelines
FISD welcomes parents and visitors to campuses. For the safety of those within the school setting, all visitors are expected to demonstrate the highest standards of courtesy and conduct. Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. All visitors must enter campuses through the front office to sign in and receive a visitor pass to wear while on campus.
Raptor Visitor Tracking System
For the safety and security of our students, FISD uses a visitor tracking system in all schools. The purpose of this system is to ensure that adult visitors on campus are identified and do not pose a threat to students or staff. Upon entering the campus, visitors will be asked to present one of the following forms of identification in order to move beyond the front desk:
Valid Driver’s License (any state)
Passport State-Issued Identification
Licenses or identification cards will be scanned and returned. Once cleared, visitors will be issued a visitor’s badge, which must be worn while on campus. Upon departure, the visitor’s badge must be returned to the receptionist.
While we encourage visitors, Floresville ISD puts the safety of staff and students first. Please follow our visitor guidelines when attending a campus meeting, activity, or event. If a visitor does not have a visitor badge, they have been trained to direct visitors back to the office.
General visitors:
All visitors are required to check in at the front desk. A driver's license will be required to be submitted to the front office in order to have access to the building. The license will be returned to the visitor at the time of check-out.
Outside visitors will be required to wear the badge provided by the office at eye level at all times while in the building.
Staff will escort visitors to and from location. Visitors are asked to stay in the area that they are signed in to and not to other areas within the building.
We ask that visitors not open any outside doors to others. All visitors must enter at the front entrance.
All visitors will follow any safety procedures or drills while on the campus.
All visitors will be expected to follow all behavior expectations. Note when behavior is determined by the school to be inappropriate, the visitor may be refused entry or can be removed.
No electronic listening or audio/video recording device may be used by students or visitors in a classroom without the teacher and principal's permission.
Visitors wishing to observe a classroom:
The form below must be completed and submitted to the building principal.
Up to 45 minutes will be scheduled at least 5 days in advance.
All observers must be accompanied by a building administrator or designee.
All normal check-in and check-out procedures will be followed.
Visitor behavior (per 19 Texas Administrative Code, Section 103.1207):
Identification will be required of any person on Floresville ISD school property.
A school district administrator or a school resource officer may refuse a person to enter on or may eject a person from the property if the person refuses to leave peacefully on request AND/OR poses a substantial risk of harm to any person.
A person may also be ejected or refused entry if the person behaves in a manner that is inappropriate for a school setting for up to two years.
Any person who is refused entry or is ejected from a Floresville ISD property will receive written notification of the terms that will be in place and written information explaining the appeal process.
Instruction will not be interrupted. No attempts shall be made to engage the teacher or the students in conversation.
Under ordinary circumstances, the teacher being visited by a parent should continue with the regular classroom work.
It is desirable that parent-teacher conferences be held before or after school in order that normal progress of classroom instruction will not be disrupted.
Student’s Right of Confidentiality
I understand that information relating to student achievement and behavior is confidential and is protected through state and federal regulations. As a result of my observation at FISD, I may see or observe such information that relates to children that I am not here to observe. Failure to protect the right of confidentiality of all students may result in the denial of future requests to observe.
