Welcome to the Floresville ISD Child Nutrition Department

The Child Nutrition Department is an integral part of your child's daily experience and we would like that to be an enjoyable part of their educational adventure. Here are some guidelines that will make the transition into the 2023-2024 school year as smooth as possible:

• New students to Floresville ISD will need to fill out an online application to qualify and participate in the Free/Reduced Breakfast and Lunch Program. The link can be found on the FISD Child Nutrition webpage. Applications will be processed within 10 days by the Child Nutrition Department. Parents will need to pay for their child's meals until the application is processed and eligibility is determined.

• Returning students to the district will be able to use their eligibility status from the previous school year for the first 30 operating days of the new school year. If an application has not been submitted within those 30 operating days, the student's eligibility status will change to paid and you will be responsible for payment of meals. The Child Nutrition Department encourages all students to apply.

• The Floresville ISD Child Nutrition Department is excited to offer an online method of monitoring and making payments to your child's account. Payments can be made using your child's student ID # and a valid debit/credit card. Please go to the FISD website, select Child Nutrition from the departments tab and then select online payments to sign up. Payments by check/cash are accepted at each campus cafeteria. Please make sure you have your child's name and student ID # written on all checks to ensure their account is credited.

   

ALLERGIES AND FOOD INTOLERANCES:

New guidelines have been established for serving children with Food Allergies and Food Intolerances:

The FISD child nutrition department is no longer able to accept a doctor's note on a prescription pad as sufficient information. We must have the Texas Department of Agriculture's form, filled out by a physician and on file in the Child Nutrition Department office before we are able to accommodate any special dietary need. This form is available on our website or we can mail you a copy. The FISD Child Nutrition Department must have an updated form each year. Accommodation of any non-life threatening food intolerance will be done on a case by case basis.

The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation.
