Floresville Independent School District has begun the search for its next Superintendent. The Floresville ISD Board of Trustees has established a search process to identify a highly qualified leader who will continue to move the district forward while supporting the needs of our students, staff, families, and community.
Community Input Survey
Community input is an important part of the superintendent search process. Floresville ISD will invite parents, staff, students, and community members to share their feedback regarding the qualities, characteristics, and priorities they believe are most important in the district’s next superintendent.
The community-wide Superintendent Search Survey will open Monday, August 24, 2026, and close Friday, September 4, 2026.

Feedback received through the survey will assist the Board of Trustees as it considers candidates for the position.
Superintendent Applications
Applications for the Floresville ISD Superintendent position opened August 13, 2026 and must be received by Monday, September 14, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. CST.

Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
Texas Superintendent certificate required
Minimum of 15 years of experience in education required
Minimum of 5 years of campus administration experience required
Superintendent experience preferred
Central Office experience preferred
Doctorate degree preferred
Residency within Floresville ISD boundaries preferred

The current projected timeline includes:
August 13, 2026
— Superintendent application period opens
August 24–September 4, 2026
— Community-wide survey
September 14, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
— Application period closes
September 22, 2026
— Board reviews applications and selects candidates to interview
September 28–29, 2026
— Candidate interviews and selection of applicants for second interviews
October 6–7, 2026
— Follow-up interviews and possible action to name a finalist
October 27–28, 2026
— Anticipated vote to hire the new Superintendent, based on the required 21-day waiting period after a finalist is named
