teacher and students holding certificates at board meeting

Floresville ISD announced the Teachers and Students of the Month for April.

Mrs. Sheryl Troutman, teacher at Floresville High School, has been named Teacher of the Month. She has worked at FHS for four years and teaches classes in both the Science department as well as the CTE program, teaching courses like Anatomy, Physiology, and Forensic Science. Mrs. Troutman frequently engages her students by having them complete labs, she can be seen out in the parking lot collecting tire tracks and mocking up crime scenes. Her students describe her as enthusiastic and passionate. Having Mrs. Troutman on campus brings a spark to the department and seeing her passion for kids is inspiring. Outsides of the classroom, Mrs. Troutman enjoys various outdoor activities and specializes in gardening and beekeeping.

Jeremiah Carvajal, senior at FHS, is one of two Students of the Month. He is a member of the National Honor Society and a student athlete who participates in football. Jeremiah invests back into his community through various volunteer opportunities. He has spent four years in the Welding pathway and completed his Industry Based Certification. Jeremiah enjoys hunting and fishing along with spending time with his family.

Marizelle Lucio, senior at FHS, is the second Student of the Month. She is a part of the Student Council and has been for two years. She was inducted into the National Honor Society and is a current active member. Marizelle frequently volunteers to work at the concession stand during football games.
