The FHS Symphonic Band and FMS Wind Ensemble recently submitted recordings to the Association of Texas Small School Bands Outstanding Performance Series Competition. The recordings were evaluated by a panel of judges from a March Category and Concert Music Category, and the best three in the region for each category advanced to the Area level. The FHS Symphonic Band advanced to Area in both categories, while the FMS Wind Ensemble placed first overall in their class for Region 12 and advanced to Area with a piece in the Concert Music Category and the March Category.

Thank you to the Girl Scouts Troop 559 for joining us at the June regular meeting of the FISD Board of Trustees! In order to earn their Citizens Badge, the girl scouts witness and participate in civil engagement activities that affect them and their community. Molly Staggs and Joshua Olivarez became the first two students to graduate from Floresville ISD with a high school diploma and an associate's degree, and we couldn't be more proud of them! A big congratulations to both! #FISDGreatKids

We are happy to announce Mrs. Cassi Korzekwa as our Secondary Teacher of the YEar and Mrs. Genevieve Rodriguez as our Elementary Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Korzekwa is a CTE teacher at FHS. Mrs. Rodriguez is a 2nd-grade teacher at FNE. #FISDGreatStaff Congratulations!

Look who came to Floresville Middle School on the last day of school to wish our students a great summer! None other than former San Antonio Spurs player Matt Bonner! 🏀 The "Red Rocket" talked to the students about how important education and hard work are in order to achieve success. The students had a blast and many even had the chance to take pictures with or get an autograph from the NBA star. Thank you, Mr. Bonner, for a moment our students will remember forever!

Last signing of the 2022-2023 school year! Congratulations to Floresville High School senior Gabby Perez! She signed with New Mexico Junior College to play golf for the Thunderbirds! We are so proud of Gabby, her academic success, and all of her accomplishments beyond the classroom! #FISDGreatKids
